A man was hurt in a drive-by shooting Tuesday afternoon on the border between the Back of the Yards and West Englewood neighborhoods on the South Side.

The 31-year-old was getting on a bus in the 5500 block of South Damen just before 3 p.m. when a white Jeep with Indiana license plates drove by and someone inside fired shots, according to Chicago Police.

He was shot in the buttocks and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition stabilized.

Police said the victim is a documented gang member.
