A townhouse was damaged in a fire in north suburban Evanston Saturday night.

About 7 p.m., firefighters were sent to a rubbish fire reported in the rear of a townhouse complex at 163 Ashbury Ave., according to a statement from the Evanston Fire Department. When crews arrived, they found the rubbish fire had extended to the building.

Only one unit of the townhouse complex was damaged, the fire department said. No injuries were reported. The fire remained under investigation Sunday afternoon.
