A 17-year-old boy died Thursday night after he was hit by a vehicle in south suburban Midlothian.

At 7:38 p.m., police arrived at the intersection of 147th Street and Karlov Avenue to a crash involving a vehicle and 17-year-old boy, according to a statement from the Midlothian police.

Mark Gorman was struck by the vehicle and treated by firefighters at the scene before being taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office and police.

Gorman, who lived in the 14700 block of Karlov Avenue, was pronounced dead at 8:10 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office. His death was ruled an accident.

No charges were filed against the driver of the vehicle.
