A man was shot Tuesday night while driving in the East Side neighborhood on the Far South Side.

The 22-year-old was driving at 11:51 p.m. in the 10000 block of South Avenue L when a silver SUV pulled alongside his vehicle and a male inside opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

The man suffered gunshot wounds to the back and showed up at Trinity Hospital, police said. His condition was stabilized and he was transferred to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
