A 33-year-old man was shot to death Wednesday night in the Goose Island neighborhood on the Near West Side.

Phillip Lewis, of the 6200 block of Garden View in Matteson, was found shot to death in the 900 block of North Racine at 7:11 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office and Chicago Police. He was pronounced dead at 7:16 p.m.

Area Central detectives have launched a homicide investigation.
