A 30-year-old man was shot to death late Friday in the South Shore neighborhood.

Officers responding to a call of a person shot just before midnight found him near 78th Street and South Shore Drive with a gunshot wound to the head, police said.

Tyrice Anderson was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 1:03 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office and police. He lived in the same block as the shooting.

The shooting was thought to be gang-related, police said.
