A 17-year-old girl was fatally shot in the Back of the Yards early Saturday.

Naome Zuber was in the backseat of a vehicle traveling north in the 4500 block of South Wood about 12:30 a.m. when a male on the sidewalk shot her in the head, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office and Chicago Police.

She was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 12:52 a.m., the medical examiner’s office and police said. She lived in the 5400 block of South Kenneth.
