A 33-year-old man was found dead on the side of a road in north suburban Beach Park Saturday morning.

Shortly before 10 a.m., someone spotted Matthew J. Strait’s body in a ravine on the west side of the the 39100 block of North Green Bay Road, according to the Lake County sheriff’s office.

Investigators think the Zion resident had been walking in or near the southbound lanes when he was hit by a vehicle that took off, sheriff’s police said. An autopsy was scheduled for Sunday.
