A man was seriously wounded in a shooting Monday night in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side.

The 18-year-old was walking at 9:35 p.m. in the 5000 block of South Winchester when someone walked up and shot at him, according to Chicago Police.

He suffered a gunshot wound to the back and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious condition, police said.
