Dennis Goron starts Buck of the Week with a 12-pointer he arrowed at nine yards on private land in Will County.

“An absolute gorgeous example of the quality of whitetail hunting close to home,’’ the Joliet man emailed.

He pretty much nailed that on many levels.

BOTW, the celebration of big bucks and good stories, runs Wednesdays when apt on the Sun-Times outdoors page. The story part matters as much as the big buck part, generally.
