A 25-year-old man was fatally struck by a semi Wednesday night on Interstate 80 near southwest suburban Joliet.

About 9:20 p.m., a 2011 Kenworth semi truck was headed east on I-80, just west of Wheeler Road, when Aaron A. Wiley stepped from the right shoulder into traffic, according to Illinois State Police and the Will County coroner’s office.

The Joliet resident was dead at the scene, authorities said. Final autopsy results are pending further investigation.
