A man was shot Thursday night while walking in the South Side Woodlawn neighborhood.

The 42-year-old was on the sidewalk in the 1400 block of East Marquette at 9:44 p.m. when he heard shots and realized he’d been hit in the lower left leg, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
