SHARE Man dies in crash on I-90 in Chicago

A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Friday on Interstate 90near the Northwest Side Jefferson Park neighborhood.

About 1:55 a.m., Willie M. Ramirez, 28, was driving at a high rate of speed north on I-90 just south of Lawrence Avenue when he lost control of his vehicle, according to Illinois State Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He droveoff the interstate, and his vehicle rolled over after it crashed through a fence. He was not wearing a seat belt.

Ramirez, who lived nearby in the 5900 block of West Wilson, was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 2:43 a.m., authorities said. An autopsyshowed he died of blunt force injuries he suffered in the crash.

No one else was inside the vehicle and no other injuries were reported, state police said.

The man, 24, was found by a tenant with two gunshot wounds to the head in the entry way of the complex in the 7800 block of South Laflin Street about 1:30 a.m., police said.
State troopers responding to the shooting about 8:10 p.m. found the woman, 25, with injuries considered life threatening, fire officials and Illinois state police said.

Jaylun Sanders, 21, faces two counts of first-degree murder in the shooting. A second man, 20-year-old Kameron Abram, faces weapons and trespassing charges, police said.
