A man was shot late Friday while sitting in the backseat of a vehicle in the Southwest Side West Elsdon neighborhood.

At 10:59 p.m., the 23-year-old was sitting in the vehicle at a stop sign in the 5700 block of South Kilbourn when a white four-door car pulled alongside and someone inside fired shots, according to Chicago Police.

He suffered a graze wound to the head and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
