A man was found seriously injured Saturday morning in the Bronzeville neighborhood on the South Side.

Officers responding to reports of a person down about 6:40 a.m. found the man unresponsive on the ground with injuries to his face in an alley in the 4000 block of South Prairie, according to preliminary information from Chicago Police.

The man, whose exact age was not known, was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, police said. Further details were not immediately available.
