A man who was shot late Tuesday in the South Shore neighborhood declined medical treatment.

The 27-year-old was shot in the right thigh just before 11 p.m. in the 6800 block of South Merrill, according to Chicago Police.

He refused medical treatment at the scene and refused to cooperate with investigators.

A police source said the man is a documented gang member.
