A man told a 16-year-old girl to get into his SUV in the Northwest Side Norwood Park neighborhood on Thursday morning.

About 8 a.m., the girl was parking her vehicle in the 7500 block of West Everell to go to school nearby when a white man in his late 30s or early 40s pulled up in an SUV and told her to get inside, according to Chicago Police.

The girl refused, got back inside her own vehicle and locked the doors, police said.

The man, who was wearing a dark blue baseball cap and dark sunglasses, drove away east on Everell toward Harlem, police said. The SUV was described as a gold GMC or Chevrolet Tahoe with dark tinted windows and silver hubcaps.

Anyone with information should call Area North detectives at (312) 744-8200.
