Two people were critically injured in a crash with a semi truck early Thursday in north suburban Skokie.

A vehicle and semi tractor-trailer collided in the 4200 block of Golf Road at 3:51 a.m., according to Skokie police. The semi turned over.

Two people were taken to Evanston Hospital in critical condition, police said. Their genders and ages were not released.

Golf Road is closed in both directions between Gross Point Road and Crawford, police said. It is not expected to reopen for several hours.

The North Regional Major Crimes Task Force Major Crash Assistance Team is investigating. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call Skokie police at (847) 982-5900, or the crime tip hotline at (847) 933-8477. Tips can also be texted to 847411 with “Skokie” in the message.
