A man was shot Wednesday in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

The shooting happened just before noon in the 300 block of South Whipple, according to Chicago Police.

The 28-year-old man showed up at Mount Sinai Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds to the legs, police said. He was listed in serious condition.

The two men were shot Saturday in the 7100 block of South Peoria Street, police said.
The man, who apparently took his own life inside the building in the 4100 block of West Chicago Avenue had been the subject of more than 40 calls for service since January 2022, a police department source told the Sun-Times.
