Man shot in back on West Side

A 19-year-old man was shot in the upper back Wednesday evening in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

He was standing outside just before 7 p.m. in the 5500 block of West Quincy when he heard gunfire and realized he’d been shot, according to Chicago Police.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
