A 22-year-old man was shot in the chest and back early Saturday in the East Garfield Park on the West Side.

At 3:30 a.m., the man was standing outside in the 3300 block of West Madison when he heard shots and fell to the ground, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken in serious condition to Stroger Hospital, police said.

The shooting was considered gang-related, a police source said.
