Masked gunman shoots 2 in South Chicago apartment

A 17-year-old boy and 21-year-old man were shot in the hallway of a South Chicago neighborhood apartment building on Monday night.

A masked gunman opened fire just before 9 p.m. inside the building in the 8700 block of South Escanaba, hitting the man in the chest and the teen in the foot, according to Chicago Police.

They were taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where the man was listed in serious condition. The boy was stabilized, police said.

Around 1:45 a.m., the 25-year-old man was arguing with someone he knew in the 6100 block of South King Drive when he was shot multiple times in the body, Chicago police said.
