Police are searching for the person who fired shots early Sunday in north suburban Beach Park.

Lake County sheriff’s deputies responded about 3 a.m. to a report of gunshots fired in the 12200 block of West 29th Street in Beach Park, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office. Shell casings were found in the area.

Investigators spoke with witnesses and are reviewing area surveillance videos, police said. The preliminary investigation indicates a silver Pontiac Grand Prix, which sped from the area after the gunfire erupted, was likely involved in the incident.

No one was injured in the incident, police said.

Anyone with information on the shots fired is asked to call the Lake County sheriff’s office at (847) 549-5200 or Lake County CrimeStoppers at (847) 662-2222.
