A 14-year-old boy told investigators someone shot him in the leg while he was taking out trash in a North Austin neighborhood alley Tuesday night on the West Side.

He showed up at Loretto Hospital and said the attack happened about 8:30 p.m. in the alley of the 1700 block of North Linder, according to Chicago Police.

His condition was stabilized, police said.
