A man was shot Thursday morning in the North Side Rogers Park neighborhood.

The 23-year-old victim was standing on the sidewalk in the 7000 block of North Greenwood about 10 a.m. when he saw a handgun being displayed from an approaching vehicle, according to Chicago Police.

He began running but was shot in the buttocks, police said. He was taken in good condition to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston.

A police source said the victim is a documented gang member.
