A man was shot Wednesday afternoon in the University Village neighborhood on the Near West Side.

At 12:36 p.m., a 27-year-old man was a passenger in a vehicle in the 600 block of South Ashland when someone in another vehicle fired shots grazing him on the forehead, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
