A 28-year-old man was fatally shot Friday afternoon in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

At 1:47 p.m., Steven Hicks was walking in the 8900 block of South Parnell when a car drove by and someone inside fired shots, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Hicks was shot in the face, chest and hand; and was pronounced dead at Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn at 2:34 p.m., authorities said. He lived in the 8800 block of South Union.
