A man was shot early Sunday in the West Elsdon neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

About 2:45 a.m, the 36-year-old was standing in a lot in the 5400 block of South Pulaski when gunfire erupted and he was struck in the abdomen, according to Chicago Police.

The man, a documented gang member, was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
