A man was shot Sunday night while walking in the South Chicago neighborhood.

The 19-year-old was walking in the 8000 block of South Escanaba at 8:25 p.m. when someone walked up and shot him in the left thigh and ankle, according to Chicago Police.

He took himself to Trinity Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
