A man was shot to death Sunday afternoon in the South Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

Travis R. Harris, 18, was found at 4:23 p.m. lying on the ground in the 4900 block of West West End, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Harris had been shot in the torso and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5 p.m., authorities said. He lived on the same block as the shooting.

Area North detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
