Rich Rogoz correctly noted, “The warm November weather seems to have kept the bass active.’’

That applies to fishermen getting out, too.

Rogoz caught and released a 23-inch largemouth (photo at the top), from among double digits of bass caught from an area pond last Wednesday on a white 4-inch swim jig.

Michael Callaway’s father sent along some of the quality bass his son was catching with minnows on a pond in Bartlett, including the one to the right.

FOTW, the celebration of big fish and good stories, runs Wednesdays on the Sun-Times outdoors page. The story part matters as much as the big fish part, generally.
