Two shot in Humboldt Park

Two 17-year-old boys were injured when a would-be robber fired shots in the Humboldt Park neighborhood Thursday evening on the West Side.

At 6:33 p.m., one of the teenagers was walking in the 3700 block of West Chicago when someone grabbed his arm and tried to rob him, according to Chicago Police. The 17-year-old tried to pull away, but the attacker opened fire, striking him in the leg.

He was taken to Norwegian American Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, police said.

Another 17-year-old standing nearby, who was not involved in the incident, was also struck in the foot, police said. He was taken in good condition to Mount Sinai Hospital.
