Pet foods firm renamed Bentley’s Pet Stuff

Bentley’s Corner Barkery, a pet food and snacks retailer, has changed its name to Bentley’s Pet Stuff.

Arlington Heights-based Bentley’s recently completed its acquisition of the Chicago-based Pet Stuff retail chain.

The combined company will sell natural pet foods and snacks as well as toys and grooming products.

“The new Bentley’s Pet Stuff name reflects our core focus, while poising our brand in a solid position for the development of locations over the next calendar year and beyond,” co-owner Lisa Senafe said in a news release.

Bentley’s Pet Stuff has 15 stores and plans to open seven more in the next few months. The new stores are planned for Bannockburn, Crystal Lake, Downers Grove, Elmhurst, Evanston, Glenview and Skokie.

Bentley’s, founded in 2008 by Lisa and Giovanni Senafe, focuses on healthy meat pet foods and treats. Pet Stuff opened its first store in 2005 at 509 N. LaSalle St.

Entrepreneur Marcus Lemonis paid $1.7 million for 40 percent ownership in Bentley’s Corner Barkery last fall. Lemonis, whose business empire is based in the north suburbs, said Bently’s needed help streamlining its pricing, increasing its product offerings and developing brand consistency.
