A woman trying to break up a fight at an Austin neighborhood party was shot and killed Saturday morning.

Two males got into an argument about 5:25 a.m.while they were at the party in the 300 block of South Cicero, police said.

Latania Anderson, 27, stepped in between the two to break them up, but one of the males shot her in the head, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Anderson, who lived in the 4700 block of West Maypole, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
