Police had a person of interest in custody Sunday after a man was found dead inside a northwest suburban home.

Officers responding to the 13N000 block of Engel Road in unincorporated Burlington Township about 3:30 a.m. found the man, thought to be in his 50s, found dead inside the home, according to a statement from the Kane County sheriff’s office.

Police said evidence suggested a struggle may have occurred inside the home.

A person of interest was taken into custody, but no charges had been filed as of Sunday evening, police said. Detectives are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident and believe there is no threat to the public.

The sheriff’s office and the Kane County Major Crimes Task Force are conducting the death investigation.
