Comcast customers in Chicago and throughout the United States suffered cable TV and Internet service outages for several hours Monday.

The company said “almost all services” had been restored by about 1 p.m. Monday. Customers started reporting problems shortly before 9 a.m. Chicago time, according to downdetector.com. Service issues also were reported in Seattle, Denver, Houston, Portland, Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York, Washington and Minneapolis.

“We have repaired the temporary network interruption that impacted some of our services this morning. Our engineers continue to work on this issue and almost all services have already been restored. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused our customers,” Comcast said in an emailed statement shortly after 1 p.m.

The company’s customer service team on Twitter tried to reassure customers throughout the outage.

Customer @stefwarning tweeted to Comcast: “I already know you hate me, but cutting out service 30 minutes into Frozen? That’s just cold”
