A 17-year-old boy was shot Tuesday in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The teen was in the 6900 block of South Maplewood Avenue around 6:25 p.m. when someone walked up and shot him in the left leg, Chicago Police said.

He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in fair condition, police said.
