A 22-year-old man was found shot to death early Sunday in the Longwood Manor neighborhood on the South Side.

Lawrence Campbell III was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the back about 1 a.m. inside a vehicle in the 9700 block of South Sangamon Street, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Police said he had been driving southbound on Sangamon when he was shot, then crashed his vehicle.

Campbell, of the 1200 block of West 61st Street, was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:20 a.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.

An autopsy found he died of multiple gunshot wounds and his death was ruled a homicide.
