WASHINGTON – With Hillary Clinton in Chicago today – for three fundraisers and a rally on the South Side, the Bernie Sanders Illinois campaign, in a bit of counter programming, marks the official opening of its Illinois headquarters with a press conference headlined by one of Sanders top surrogates – Cook County Board Member Jesus “Chuy” Garcia.

The Sanders event is at 5 p.m.at 600 W. Roosevelt, 2nd floor. Clem Balanoff is the Illinois Sanders campaign director.

Last Saturday, the Sanders campaign kickoff was at Bar Louie, 47 W.Polk St.

Those expected to attend: Alderman Carlos Ramirez-Rosa (35th Ward), Alderman John Arena (45th Ward), community activist and member of the Chicago Teachers Union, Tara Stamps, President of Communication Workers of America Local 308, Ken Franklin, National Nurses United member, Adriana Sanchez, and Cook County Clerk, David Orr.
