“Muskie Ed’’ Potocki proudly nominated his friend Ed Glista for catching the big black crappie Saturday at the charitable Walk on Water Ice Fishing Derby on Bangs Lake in Wauconda.

Glista, of Streamwood, caught his 13.25-inch winner on a minnow at 11:45 a.m. with 15 minutes remaining in the derby.

After all FOTW is the celebration of big fish and good stories around Chicago fishing. And that’s a good story. FOTW appears Wednesdays on theSun-Times outdoors page.
