SHARE Man charged with robbing Lake View bank suspected of 4 others

A man who has been charged with robbing a bank three weeks ago in Lake View is also suspected in at least four other area bank robberies.

Raphael Morris, 33, was charged with one federal count of bank robbery in connection with the robbery of a Byline Bank branch at 742 W. Diversey on Jan. 26, according to the FBI.

He is also suspected in four other bank robberies, according to the FBI:

-Fifth Third Bank branch at 837 W. North Ave. on Feb. 6;

-American Eagle Bank at 2255 N. Western Ave. on. Jan. 15;

-BMO Harris branch at 915 Ridge Rd. in Munster, Ind. on Jan. 13; and

-U.S. Bank branch at 2131 S. China Pl. on Dec. 28.

Morris appeared in federal court Tuesday and was ordered held pending his next appearance Friday.
