Man charged with burglarizing Oak Brook home

A man has been charged with burglarizing a home Sunday morning in west suburban Oak Brook, but his accomplice is still on the loose.

Anthony Fields, 24, was charged with residential burglary and unlawful possession of a stolen motor vehicle, both felonies, according to a statement from Oak Brook police.

About 10:30 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to a burglary at a home on Deer Trail Lane, police said. Someone had forced their way into a side door and taken several items, including two vehicles from the garage.

The vehicles were later seen driving recklessly on eastbound I-290, police said. One of the suspects, later identified as Fields, crashed one of the stolen vehicles on I-290 near Central, police said. The second suspect got away in the other stolen vehicle.

Fields was injured in the crash and arrested, police said. His bond was set at $40,000.

“Our department is actively following up leads in this open investigation,” a statement from the police department said.
