Three people were injured, two of them fatally, in a crash near north suburban Libertyville Friday morning.

About 9 a.m., a Jeep Grand Cherokee and Chevrolet Blazer were heading southbound on Milwaukee Avenue just north of Casey Road in unincorporated Libertyville Township when the Blazer rear-ended the other SUV, according to the Lake County sheriff’s office.

The Blazer then drove over a raised median into oncoming traffic, striking a pickup truck head-on, sheriff’s police said.

Eyler of Salem, Wisconsin; died hours after the crash, police said. The passenger; 22-year-old Alexis J. Thompson of Kenosha, Wisconsin; died Saturday afternoon, police said.

The driver of the pickup was taken to the same hospital with minor injuries, and the Jeep’s driver declined medical attention, police said.
