A 21-year-old man was shot in the back Friday evening in the Brighton Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

He was outside about 7:40 p.m. in the 4600 block of South Albany when another person walked up, opened fire and then took off in a vehicle, according to Chicago Police.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
