A 33-year-old man was shot in north suburban Evanston Tuesday afternoon.

He was sitting in a car about 3:20 p.m. in the 1300 block of Dobson Street when a gunman wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black sweatpants ran up, fired several times into the car and then ran away, according to Evanston police.

The man was shot multiple times and he took himself to Presence Saint Francis Hospital, police said. His injuries weren’t considered life-threatening.
