A 26-year-old man was shot in a South Shore neighborhood drive-by attack Tuesday afternoon.

He was walking in the 7800 block of South Colfax about 3:15 p.m. when someone opened fire from a passing van, according to Chicago Police.

The man was hit in the upper arm and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in fair condition.

A police source said he has documented gang ties.
