A woman was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash on the Bishop Ford Freeway early Sunday in south suburban South Holland, police said.

The woman, thought to be in her mid-20s, was driving in the southbound lanes of I-94 near 170th Street when the vehicle hit a guardrail and rolled over into a ditch, said Illinois State Police Trooper Ark Wozniak.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, Wozniak said. The woman was the only person in the car. The Cook County medical examiner’s office could not immediately confirm the fatality.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
