An 84-year-old Oak Lawn man was hit and killed by an SUV Friday evening in the southwest suburb.

About 5:30 p.m., James Nassin was walking eastbound across Pulaski Road from the southwest corner of 103rd Street when he was struck by the SUV, which was making a lefthand turn onto southbound Pulaski, according to Oak Lawn police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Nassin, of the 10400 block of Longwood Lane in Oak Lawn, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he died at 8:03 p.m., authorities said.

Witnesses said the pedestrian was crossing against the signal while the driver had a green turn arrow, police said. No charges had been filed as of Sunday evening as the investigation continues.
