Work on York Street bridge in Elmhurst causes overnight lane closures

Overnight lane closures on Roosevelt Road beneath York Street in west suburban Elmhurst began last week for bridge repairs.

Closures began the week of Feb. 15 to install protective shielding on the York Street bridge over Roosevelt Road, according to a statement from the Illinois Department of Transportation. The project is expected to be finished in summer 2016.

Drivers should pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones.
