Girl shot in Brighton Park

A teenage girl was shot Tuesday evening in the Brighton Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The 16-year-old girl was walking about 6 p.m. in the 3000 block of West 37th Place when someone approached her with a gun and fired shots, according to Chicago Police.

She was shot in the left leg and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where her condition was stabilized, police said.
